"Jim,

The grunt work is in making phone calls to prospects. It is the fast and cheap way to get quoting. Find out where DoD regional council is meeting in your area and go to that and similar events.

  • Thanks Dave for the encouragement, In this economy it seem no one is looking for new vendors. I'm finding some work, but nothing to get excited about. How do you find out where the DoD are meeting, I am registered with CRC but I have not had much luck finding machine work. I will keep plugging away.

  • I would need to put it into Catalyst, the printer driver. We can sign an NDA. Let's "talk" offline. My email is vbarile@cimquest-inc.com or you can give me a call at 732-699-0400 ext. 219 if you have sometime. I have an NDA that I can email you that we have used in the past.
  • All depends on the tolerance you need to hold. And the weight of the stock that you will machine. And the method of workholding. Do you have a sample 3D CAD file? I can take a look and see if it's a good fit.
  • I peeked at your websites. Your parts are perfect examples of what can be "printed" using this technology. The process is called FDM and produces durable ABS plastic parts. We can do other materials including PC's and Ultem. I have customers, like you, that use this technology to print parts for their customers during the quoting phase, they also print parts to communicate throughout the shop floor to make sure that they are machining the right parts/features. The use for it is unlimited. Take a look at our site at your leisure... I am here if you have any questions.
  • That's great! We can print parts for you to. You can find out about the machines that we have here: http://www.cimquest-inc.com/3DParts. We can print various sizes, colors and materials. You can send your 3D CAD file anytime to us for a quote, (those are free) :) prototypes@cimquest-inc.com.
  • Yes, you can do functional parts. there's a video on our site, www.uprintsource.com. the wrench is very interesting.
  • Mfg. Co's are bringing this in-house to get quick & cheaper parts "printed" before send thier parts to the machines. Saves time and money. Is this something that would help you?
  • Hello Mr. David,

    How are you doing ?
