Upcoming Regulations – New Tower Concepts – Condition Monitoring Systems
The wind power industry is growing with the trend towards taller towers and larger turbine capacity. Over the past 30 years, the wind energy turbine tower has grown from 40 meters to over 100+ meters with turbine sizes reaching 6 and more MW. Wind energy capacity curves improve with height because the wind profile is stronger.
The upcoming introduction of the new Eurocodes in 2012 has led to an updating of the DIBt guideline covering WECs (published by the German Civil Engineering Institute) and a revision of load calculations and stability proofs of towers and foundations.
This conference will deal with new concepts on steel tubular towers, lattice towers, prestressed concrete and hybrid towers.
