Code requirements for design and construction include fluid service requirements, which affect selection and application of materials. The code sets limitations and qualification of materials based on their inherent properties. The selection of materials is often set by and under the control of Engineers and personnel from Quality who, although qualified in their own discipline, may not have received formal Material or Mechanical Engineering training. To be effective, Engineers and Technicians should have a fundamental understanding of the principles that dictate the requirement of materials by the Construction Code. This course is designed to meet the needs of Mechanical Engineers, Material Engineers, QA/ QC Personnel and Inspectors from Design, Construction and Owner Companies. It is an excellent course for young engineers to get an overview of how materials are classified, specified, and how fluid service and temperature impact the selection. The requirement of the materials will be based on ASME B31. 3 Code.
