It is a documented fact  that more than 30% of part scrap and rework  are due to 2D drawing inaccuracies, ambiguities and mis-interpretation of design intent. It is also well known that this  manufacturing waste in cost and time can be readily addressed by more intuitive 3D data consumption in downstream processes.

Sophisticated engineering software tools help enterprises author and create 3D product definition data, but manufacturing enterprises are challenged to cost-effectively share up-to-date 3D product definition data with the downstream users in purchasing, manufacturing, the supply chain, quality, after sales and service.

This is largely due to the practice where 2D drawings, derived from native CAD models and assemblies serve as master data for downstream users. The challenges associated with creating, managing and updating these 2D assets have encouraged many progressive companies to adopt a “Lean Production” approach called the 3D Model Based Enterprise (3D MBE).

This webinar will provide a perspective on the 3D Model Based Enterprise and what it takes to build a fully integrated and collaborative Model Based environment across the product development lifecycle including the extended supply channel.

Please join Geometric and Anark as we explain the paradigm shift which is rapidly transforming the manufacturing enterprises away from redundant and costly 2D Drawings into a complete 3D Model Based Enterprise. This webinar will discuss how an innovative solution from Geometric and Anark  addresses the challenges of downstream data consumption and collaboration on the back of the rapidly growing 3D Model Based Enterprise practice.
