I'm one of those nuts that thinks he can make a viable roadable airplane. Such efforts go all the way back to the 1920's with few successes and no commercial success.
Now there is one flying (the Transition), and it appears to have good potential, although its utility is questionable. Then there is the Maverick, which fits the back country nitch nicely.
And there are lots of other nuts like me feverishly designing. I think we have the technoloogy now to make it possible. I expect to see a commercial success within 10 years, and hopefully I'll still be around.
I'd be interested in any others out there pursuing this holy grail. If nothing else, it is a very interesting pastime.
