FACT: Air bearings, Air casters were originally called the BHC Hoverpad. Invented by Sir Christopher Sydney Cockerell CBE RDI FRS. He was an English engineer, best known as the inventor of the hovercraft and the BHC Hoverpad. In the late 50's General Motors and Boeing applied to BHC for a license to manufacture Hoverpads and later when the project proved too costly and time consuming two engineers took the prototypes and went on to develop variations of the technology from this was born the vapid competition for supremacy over a product that consistently looks like a magic trick worth the big buck but in reality consistently proves disappointing. Air Casters and the related engineering in fluid film technology are manufactured by many different companies world wide such as Air Caster Corp, AeroGo, Aeris and Hovair USA Hovair Systems USA. Globally there is Solving in Finland, Vertex and Aerofilm Systems in the Netherlands. Specializing in the integration of computer technologies, advanced robotics and plant automation using fluid film technology, 20 years pioneering experience in these fields of expertise across 3 continents with proven, published success stories.
